Summary: The cost of living in Ukraine is generally quite affordable. A nice one bedroom apartment in Ukraine can cost anywhere from $200 to $500 per month, while a nice two bedroom apartment can cost from $400 to $800 per month. The cost of dinner at a moderately priced restaurant in Ukraine is usually around $10 to $15 per person.

Is the cost of living in Ukraine high?

We asked people how much they someone comfortably live on in Ukraine, they wrote:

"The cost of living in Ukraine is generally quite affordable compared to other European countries. Prices for basic necessities such as food, transportation, and housing are generally lower than in other parts of Europe. Eating out in restaurants is also relatively inexpensive, and there are plenty of affordable options for entertainment. Overall, Ukraine is a great place to live if you are looking for a budget-friendly destination," wrote a person living in Ukraine.

"I am not certain, but I think that a couple can find an apartment for 300, to 400 month US Live near subway and forget old idea about driving everywhere, get some much needed exercise on foot))) Taxi service is cheap 10. us$ for a 45 minute ride maximum. 15 hour train ride for $10.00 US with sleeping birth )))," explained one expat living in Kharkov.

Will I save money living in Ukraine?

"I have been very happy with my cost of living here and lifestyle. It is much better than I expected," said one person in Kharkov.

"Well prices have risen here of course, but the exchange rate is still consistently good against the British pound," remarked one expat in Kharkov.

"Living in Ukraine can be significantly cheaper than living in the United States. The cost of living in Ukraine is generally lower than in the United States, with rent, groceries, and other everyday expenses costing much less. Additionally, the cost of transportation, entertainment, and other services are also much lower in Ukraine than in the United States. As a result, living in Ukraine can be a great way to save money compared to living in the United States," explained one expat living in Ukraine.

What is the average cost of housing in Ukraine?

If you are thinking about moving to Ukraine, cost of living in probably a key consideration. Expats commented about the cost of housing:

"The cost of housing in Ukraine varies depending on the location and type of property. Generally, the cost of renting an apartment in Ukraine is relatively affordable compared to other European countries. Prices for apartments in the capital city of Kyiv tend to be higher than in other cities, but still remain relatively low compared to other European capitals," said one expat in Ukraine.

"The rental price for a nice 1 bedroom apartment in Ukraine can vary depending on the location, but generally ranges from around $200 to $500 per month. For a nice 2 bedroom apartment, the rental price can range from around $400 to $800 per month," wrote one expat.

What appliances are typically included in a rental?

We asked foreigners in Ukraine what appliances are typically included in a rental, and, if there is anything else included or not included that a newcomer would not expect. Replies included:

"In Ukraine, rental properties typically include a refrigerator, stove, oven, washing machine, and air conditioning unit. Other common appliances may include a microwave, dishwasher, and water heater. Furniture may also be included in the rental, depending on the agreement between the landlord and tenant," commented one expat living in Ukraine.
