A nice 1 bedroom apartment in Namibia can cost anywhere from $400 to $800 per month, while a nice 2 bedroom apartment can cost from $600 to $1,200 per month. The cost of dinner at a moderately priced restaurant in Namibia is usually around $15 to $20 per person.

The cost of living in Namibia is much lower than in the United States, with basic necessities such as food, housing, and transportation costing significantly less. Additionally, Namibia has a much lower tax rate than the United States, which can help to further reduce the cost of living," remarked one in Namibia.

If you are thinking about moving to Namibia, cost of living in probably a key consideration. Expats commented about the cost of housing:

"The cost of housing in Namibia varies depending on the location and type of housing. Generally, the cost of renting a house in Namibia is relatively affordable compared to other countries in the region. The average cost of renting a two-bedroom apartment in the capital city of Windhoek is around N$3,000 per month, while a three-bedroom house in a rural area can cost around N$2,000 per month," remarked one expat in Namibia.

What are typical rental prices for expats in Namibia?

"The rental price for a nice 1 bedroom apartment in Namibia can vary depending on the location and amenities, but generally ranges from around $500 to $1,000 per month. For a nice 2 bedroom apartment, the rental price can range from around $700 to $1,500 per month," said one expat.

What appliances are typically included in a rental?

We asked foreigners in Namibia what appliances are typically included in a rental, and, if there is anything else included or not included that a newcomer would not expect. Replies included:

"Rental properties in Namibia typically include a refrigerator, stove, oven, and washing machine. Other common appliances may include a dishwasher, microwave, and air conditioning unit. Depending on the property, additional amenities such as a clothes dryer, water heater, and security system may also be included," said one expat living in Namibia.
