For a nice two bedroom apartment, rents also vary based on location and amenities, but they usually range from around $1,200 to $2,400 per month," said an expat in Alaska.

We asked foreigners in Alaska what appliances are typically included in a rental, and, if there is anything else included or not included that a newcomer would not expect. Replies included:

"Rental properties in Alaska typically come equipped with a refrigerator, stove, dishwasher, washer and dryer. Additional appliances such as air conditioners and microwaves may also be included, depending on the landlord," remarked one expat in Alaska.
