The cost of dinner at a moderately priced restaurant in Hawaii is usually around $20 to $30 per person.

What are typical rental prices for expats in Hawaii?

"The rental price of a nice one bedroom apartment in Hawaii can vary depending on the area, but generally range from around $1,200 to over $2,500 per month. For a nice two bedroom apartment, the average price is around $2,200 per month, although this can climb to as high as $3,500 depending on the area," remarked one expat in Hawaii.

What appliances are typically included in a rental?

We asked foreigners in Hawaii what appliances are typically included in a rental, and, if there is anything else included or not included that a newcomer would not expect. Replies included:

"A typical rental property in Hawaii usually includes an oven, stove, refrigerator, dishwasher and microwave in the kitchen, a washing machine, dryer and closet space in the laundry area, and a central air conditioning or fan system. Additionally, many rental properties in Hawaii also include outdoor items such as a barbecue grill and outdoor furniture," commented one expat who moved to Hawaii.
