Prices for basic necessities such as food, transportation, and housing are generally lower than in many other countries. However, the cost of living can vary depending on the city and region. For example, living in the capital city of Nur-Sultan is more expensive than living in smaller cities and towns. For a nice 2 bedroom apartment, the rental price can range from around $600 to $1,200 per month," commented one expat living in Kazakhstan.

What appliances are typically included in a rental?

We asked foreigners in Kazakhstan what appliances are typically included in a rental, and, if there is anything else included or not included that a newcomer would not expect. Replies included:

"In Kazakhstan, rental properties typically include a refrigerator, stove, oven, washing machine, and air conditioning unit. Other common appliances may include a microwave, dishwasher, and water heater. Depending on the property, additional amenities such as a television, internet access, and furniture may also be included," wrote an expat living in Kazakhstan.
