Lastly, contact a real estate agent or lawyer to help you through the process and ensure your investment is sound," explained one person living in Maine.

"Yes, foreigners are allowed to own property in Maine. Non-U.S. citizens are able to purchase real estate in Maine, just like any other U.S. citizen. However, they may need to obtain a visa or other documentation in order to do so. Additionally, they may need to obtain a tax identification number from the Internal Revenue Service in order to purchase property in Maine," explained one foreigner living in Maine.

"When renting a home in Maine, typical appliances included in the rental property are a refrigerator, stove, dishwasher, and washer and dryer. Some properties may also contain a microwave oven and garbage disposal," said one foreigner living in Maine.
