Summary: A newcomer to Missouri should begin their search by researching the different cities and towns in the state to determine which areas best fit their needs. They should also consider their budget and the type of home they are looking for. Once they have narrowed down their search, they should contact a local real estate agent to help them find the perfect home. Homes in Missouri typically include amenities such as central air conditioning, updated kitchens, and spacious yards. Many homes also have features such as fireplaces, decks, and patios. Depending on the area, some homes may also have access to community amenities such as swimming pools, tennis courts, and playgrounds.

What do I need to know when buying property in Missouri?

When we asked expats what advice they would give a foreigner before buying a property in Missouri, they said:

"When buying property in Missouri, it is important to be aware of the local zoning laws and deed restrictions, as well as any taxes or fees that might be associated with the purchase. It is also important to obtain and review a copy of the deed and any other relevant documents to make sure that the title is in good standing and that there are no liens associated with the property. It is also necessary to obtain an inspection of the property prior to purchase to evaluate the condition of the property and any potential repairs that could be needed. Additionally, it is important to know who will be responsible for amounts due to the homeowners association or other parties, as well as the insurance coverage terms. Finally, a buyer should obtain legal advice concerning the closing of the sale and the signing of any contracts or documents related to the purchase," explained one person living in Missouri.
