It is also important to consider the need for a home inspection to check for necessary repairs or other issues. Additionally, Ohio buyers must decide on the type of title insurance and whether to purchase separate surveys or inspections. Be sure to consult with a real estate lawyer or agent to ensure all legal documentation is in order. To avoid potential foreclosure, buyers in Ohio should also be aware of the state’s mortgage foreclosure avoidance options," said one expat in Ohio.

"Yes, foreigners are allowed to own property in Ohio. Non-U.S. citizens are able to purchase real estate in Ohio just like any other U.S. citizen. However, they may need to obtain a valid visa or green card in order to purchase property in the state. Additionally, they may need to provide proof of funds and other documents to complete the purchase," said one foreigner living in Ohio.

We asked foreigners in Ohio what appliances are typically included in a rental, and, if there is anything else included or not included that a newcomer would not expect. Replies included:
"A typical rental property in Ohio often includes an oven, refrigerator, dishwasher, washer, and dryer. Other household items such as a microwave, garbage disposal, and other furniture may be included depending on the property and agreement between the landlord and tenant," explained one foreigner living in Ohio.
