"Yes, foreigners are allowed to own property in South Dakota. Non-U.S. citizens are able to purchase real estate in South Dakota, just like any other U.S. citizen. However, they may need to obtain a valid visa in order to do so. Additionally, they may need to obtain a tax identification number from the Internal Revenue Service in order to purchase property," remarked one foreigner who made the move to South Dakota.
What appliances are typically included in a rental?
We asked foreigners in South Dakota what appliances are typically included in a rental, and, if there is anything else included or not included that a newcomer would not expect. Replies included:
"When renting a home in South Dakota, typical appliances included in the rental property are a refrigerator, stove, oven, dishwasher, and washer and dryer. Depending on the property, other appliances such as a microwave, garbage disposal, and air conditioning may also be included," wrote one expat who made the move to South Dakota.
