"Pure business matter; we could lease an industrial land plot on good conditions; housing was more difficult because of regulations at that moment," said one expat in Phan Thiet.
"One option for finding a place to live in Phan Thiet is to search online for rental listings. Websites such as Expat.com, Vietnam Real Estate, and Vietnam Housing offer a variety of rental listings in the area. Additionally, you can search for rental listings on popular classifieds websites such as Craigslist and Facebook Marketplace. You can also contact local real estate agents in the area to inquire about available rental properties. Additionally, you can ask friends and family who live in the area for recommendations," said one expat who made the move to Phan Thiet.

What is a typical expat home or apartment like in Phan Thiet?
"Expat homes and apartments in Phan Thiet are typically modern and comfortable. Most have air conditioning, cable TV, and internet access. Many have balconies or terraces with views of the ocean or the city. The apartments are usually spacious and well-furnished, with plenty of storage space. The kitchens are often equipped with modern appliances and plenty of counter space. The bathrooms are usually equipped with showers and bathtubs. "I live in a 1 bedroom house in the back of my office, for the sake of security. this is not typical for expats, for a 2 bedroom house in this area you pay around 500 US$," remarked one expat who made the move to Phan Thiet.
What is the average cost of housing in Phan Thiet?

"Housing cost is much lower than in Europe; my house rental (include my office) is 150 US$, electricity, water and gas and cable TV is around 150 US$; food cost me about 400 US$ / month. I don't eat meat a lot; price for pork for instance, doubled since 1 year ago. 1 night partying cost me around 100 US$ (Whiskey or cognac, soft drinks and tip for the waitress)," remarked one expat in Phan Thiet, Vietnam.
"The cost of housing in Phan Thiet is generally quite affordable. Prices vary depending on the size and location of the property, but the average cost for a one-bedroom apartment in the city center is typically around $200 to $300 per month. Outside of the city center, prices can be even lower," said one expat in Phan Thiet.

What should I pack when moving to Phan Thiet?

"When moving to Phan Thiet, it is important to pack items that will help you adjust to the climate and culture. Pack lightweight, breathable clothing that is appropriate for the hot and humid climate. Bring a hat, sunglasses, and sunscreen to protect yourself from the sun. Bring a mosquito net and insect repellent to protect yourself from mosquitoes. Pack a first aid kit with basic medical supplies. Bring a few items that will help you adjust to the local culture, such as a phrasebook and a guidebook. Finally, don't forget to bring any important documents, such as your passport and visa," said one expat in Phan Thiet.
"Everything can be bought here so there is no need to take anything with you; unless quality clothes and shoes. I arrived 10 years ago with 1 suitcase of clothes and 5 kg chocolate," remarked one expat who made the move to Phan Thiet.

In addition to hospitals, there are numerous pharmacies scattered throughout the city where people can purchase over-the-counter medications and prescription drugs. Dental clinics are also available, offering various dental care services such as routine check-ups, cleanings, and dental surgeries. For those seeking traditional Vietnamese medicine, there are also traditional medicine practitioners and herbal medicine shops in Phan Thiet. These practitioners offer alternative treatments and therapies, such as acupuncture, cupping, and herbal remedies.
