What are the visa & residency requirements in Boston?

"In order to obtain a visa to live in Boston, an individual must first apply for a nonimmigrant visa through the U.S. Department of State. This process requires the individual to fill out an application, provide supporting documents, and attend an interview at a U.S. Embassy or Consulate. After the visa is approved, the individual can then travel to the United States. In order to apply for residency in Boston, an individual must first obtain a green card. This process requires the individual to fill out an application, provide supporting documents, and attend an interview at a U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services office. After the green card is approved, the individual can then apply for a Social Security number and a Massachusetts driver's license," said one expat.
