Additionally, the cost of transportation is much lower in Italy, with public transportation being very affordable and gasoline being much cheaper than in the US. Furthermore, taxes are lower in Italy, meaning that overall living expenses can be significantly lower than in the US," explained one expat.

"The cost of housing in Liguria can vary depending on the location and type of property. Generally, the cost of housing in Liguria is higher than the national average, with prices ranging from moderate to expensive. Renting an apartment in Liguria can cost anywhere from €500 to €1,500 per month, while buying a property can cost anywhere from €100,000 to €1 million or more," remarked one in Liguria.

"The rental price for a nice 1 bedroom apartment in Liguria can range from around $800 to $1,500 per month, depending on the location and amenities. For a nice 2 bedroom apartment, the rental price can range from around $1,200 to $2,000 per month, again depending on the location and amenities," commented one expat who moved to Liguria.
