"Yes, foreigners are allowed to own property in Kampala. However, there are certain restrictions and conditions that apply. Foreigners can own land under a leasehold tenure system, which grants them the right to use and develop the land for a specified period, usually ranging from 49 to 99 years. This lease can be renewed upon expiration. Foreigners cannot own land under the freehold or customary tenure systems, which are reserved for Ugandan citizens. It is essential for foreigners to conduct thorough due diligence and seek legal advice before purchasing property in Uganda to ensure compliance with the country's land laws and regulations," remarked one foreigner who made the move to Kampala.

"In Kampala, rental properties typically include a refrigerator, stove, oven, and washing machine. Other common appliances may include a microwave, dishwasher, and air conditioning unit. Depending on the property, some landlords may also provide additional amenities such as a water heater, water filter, and generator," remarked one foreigner who made the move to Kampala.
