When we asked expats what advice they would give a foreigner before buying a property in Kiev, they said:

"Yes, foreigners are allowed to own property in Kiev. Foreign nationals can purchase residential and commercial properties without any restrictions. However, they are not allowed to own agricultural land directly. To acquire agricultural land, a foreigner must either set up a legal entity in Ukraine or purchase it through a Ukrainian company. It is essential for foreign buyers to follow the legal procedures and work with a local lawyer to ensure a smooth property acquisition process," wrote one expat who made the move to Kiev.

We asked foreigners in Kiev what appliances are typically included in a rental, and, if there is anything else included or not included that a newcomer would not expect. Replies included:

"In a rental property in Kiev, tenants can typically expect to find a refrigerator, stove, oven, and washing machine. Additionally, some properties may include a dishwasher, microwave, and air conditioning unit," wrote one expat who made the move to Kiev.
