It is also important to understand the local tax laws and any other fees associated with the purchase. It is also important to hire a qualified lawyer to help with the legal aspects of the purchase. Are foreigners allowed to own property in Nicosia?

This process involves submitting an application and providing relevant documents, such as a bank reference, criminal record certificate, and details of the property. The approval process may take several months, but once granted, the foreigner can proceed with the property purchase. It is also important to note that property ownership in Cyprus may be subject to taxes and fees, such as transfer fees, stamp duty, and annual property taxes," said one in Nicosia.

What appliances are typically included in a rental?

We asked foreigners in Nicosia what appliances are typically included in a rental, and, if there is anything else included or not included that a newcomer would not expect. Replies included:

"In a rental property in Nicosia, tenants can typically expect to find a refrigerator, stove, oven, washing machine, and air conditioning unit. Additionally, some properties may also include a dishwasher, microwave, and other small appliances," explained one expat in Nicosia.
