Many expats choose to live in gated communities, which offer a sense of security and privacy. Expat homes and apartments in Nadi are often located close to amenities such as shopping centers, restaurants, and beaches. The city is also known for its vibrant nightlife, with plenty of bars and clubs to explore," said one person in Nadi.

What is the average cost of housing in Nadi?

When we asked expats what advice they would give a foreigner before buying a property in Nadi, they said:

"When buying property in Nadi, it is important to research the local market and familiarize yourself with the laws and regulations governing property purchases. It is also important to ensure that the property is free from any legal disputes or encumbrances. It is also important to obtain a survey of the property to ensure that it is in good condition and that all boundaries are clearly defined. Additionally, it is important to obtain a title search to ensure that the seller is the rightful owner of the property. Finally, it is important to obtain a valuation of the property to ensure that you are paying a fair price," remarked one foreigner who made the move to Nadi.

"Foreigners are allowed to own property in Nadi, but there are certain restrictions and regulations in place. Non-residents can purchase freehold land, which is limited in availability, or leasehold land, which is more common. Foreigners are required to obtain approval from the Fiji Land Department and the Fiji Reserve Bank before purchasing property. Additionally, there is a minimum investment threshold for non-residents, which means they must invest a certain amount of money into the property. It is also important to note that owning property in Fiji does not grant residency or citizenship rights to foreigners," said one person in Nadi.

What appliances are typically included in a rental?

We asked foreigners in Nadi what appliances are typically included in a rental, and, if there is anything else included or not included that a newcomer would not expect. Replies included:

"Rental properties in Nadi typically include a refrigerator, stove, oven, and washing machine. Other common appliances may include a microwave, dishwasher, and air conditioning unit. Depending on the property, additional amenities such as a clothes dryer, water heater, and outdoor furniture may also be included," explained one foreigner living in Nadi, Fiji.
