What is the average cost of housing in Genoa?

If you are thinking about moving to Genoa, cost of living in probably a key consideration. Expats commented about the cost of housing:

"The cost of housing in Genoa can vary greatly depending on the size and location of the property. Generally, the average cost of a one-bedroom apartment in the city center is around €800-€1,000 per month, while a two-bedroom apartment can cost up to €1,500 per month. Prices outside of the city center tend to be lower, with one-bedroom apartments costing around €600-€800 per month and two-bedroom apartments costing up to €1,000 per month," said one person in Genoa.

Should I buy or rent a home in Genoa?

If you have not spent a lot of time in Genoa, you should rent before even thinking about buying. We asked expats there about the buy vs. rent decision:

When we asked expats what advice they would give a foreigner before buying a property in Genoa, they said:

"When buying property in Genoa, it is important to research the local market and familiarize yourself with the local laws and regulations. It is also important to hire a qualified lawyer to help you navigate the legal process and ensure that all paperwork is in order. Additionally, it is important to consider the location of the property and the surrounding area, as well as the condition of the property and any potential renovations that may be necessary. Finally, it is important to budget for any additional costs associated with the purchase, such as taxes, fees, and closing costs," wrote one expat who made the move to Genoa.

Are foreigners allowed to own property in Genoa?
