What is the average cost of housing in Liguria?

If you are thinking about moving to Liguria, cost of living in probably a key consideration. Expats commented about the cost of housing:

"The cost of housing in Liguria can vary depending on the location and type of property. Generally, the cost of housing in Liguria is higher than the national average, with prices ranging from moderate to expensive. Renting an apartment in Liguria can cost anywhere from €500 to €1,500 per month, while buying a property can cost anywhere from €100,000 to €1 million or more," said one expat who made the move to Liguria.

Should I buy or rent a home in Liguria?

What do I need to know when buying property in Liguria?

When we asked expats what advice they would give a foreigner before buying a property in Liguria, they said:

"When buying property in Liguria, it is important to understand the local laws and regulations. It is also important to research the area and the local market to ensure that you are making a sound investment. You should also consider the cost of living in the area, as well as the availability of public services and amenities. Additionally, it is important to understand the tax implications of buying property in Italy, as well as the process of obtaining a mortgage. Finally, it is important to ensure that you have a reliable and experienced real estate agent to help you through the process," said one expat in Liguria.

Are foreigners allowed to own property in Liguria?

When we asked expats what advice they would give a foreigner before buying a property in Liguria, they said...

"Yes, foreigners are allowed to own property in Liguria. Non-EU citizens must obtain a permit from the Italian Ministry of Interior before they can purchase property in Italy. EU citizens are allowed to purchase property in Italy without a permit. However, they must register the property with the Italian Land Registry and obtain a tax identification number. Additionally, non-EU citizens must obtain a visa before they can purchase property in Italy," wrote one expat who made the move to Liguria.

What appliances are typically included in a rental?

We asked foreigners in Liguria what appliances are typically included in a rental, and, if there is anything else included or not included that a newcomer would not expect. Replies included:

"In Liguria, rental properties typically include a refrigerator, stove, oven, and washing machine. Additionally, some properties may include a dishwasher, microwave, and air conditioning unit," said one expat in Liguria.
