Consider the rental potential of the property, if you are looking to buy as an investment. 8. Be aware of the different types of mortgages available in Portugal, and the associated costs. 9. Make sure you understand the different types of insurance available in Portugal, such as home insurance and life insurance. 10. Research the local area to ensure it is suitable for your needs, and that it is a safe and secure place to live," explained one person living in The Algarve, Portugal.
