They can be a great way to prepare for childbirth and to meet other expectant parents in Thun. Fourthly, learn about the maternity and paternity leave policies in Switzerland. The country has generous parental leave policies, so make sure you understand your rights. Fifthly, if you're not fluent in German (the main language spoken in Thun), you might want to find an English-speaking doctor and midwife. Sixthly, be prepared for the cost. Having a baby in Switzerland can be expensive, even with insurance. Lastly, make sure to register the birth with your home country's embassy or consulate to ensure your child's citizenship rights.
