Ensure you have comprehensive health insurance that covers maternity care and childbirth. Check if your insurance covers medical evacuation, in case you need to be transported to a larger hospital for the birth or in case of complications. Find a local doctor or midwife who you trust and feel comfortable with. They can guide you through the process and provide prenatal care. It's also a good idea to have a translator if you're not fluent in the local language. Prepare for the possibility that certain amenities and comforts you might expect in a hospital in your home country may not be available in Sarteneja. It's a good idea to visit the hospital or clinic where you plan to give birth well in advance, so you know what to expect. Consider hiring a doula or birth coach who can provide emotional support and help you navigate the local healthcare system. Make sure you have all the necessary paperwork in order. This includes your passport, visa, and any other documents that might be required by the hospital. Finally, embrace the local culture and customs around childbirth.
