What advice do you have for expats having a baby in Vancouver?
We asked expat moms who gave birth in Vancouver about their experiences and advice they have for other moms to be. They said...
"1. Make sure to research the different healthcare options available to you and your family, as well as the different types of insurance coverage available. 2. Consider joining a local parenting group or online forum to connect with other parents in the area and get advice from those who have gone through the same experience. 3. Take advantage of the many resources available to new parents in Vancouver, such as prenatal classes, breastfeeding support groups, and postpartum support groups. 4. Make sure to take time for yourself and your partner to relax and enjoy the experience of becoming a parent. 5. Consider hiring a doula or postpartum doula to help you navigate the transition to parenthood. 6. Take advantage of the many outdoor activities available in Vancouver, such as hiking, biking, and kayaking, to get some fresh air and enjoy the beauty of the city. 7. Make sure to take advantage of the many cultural activities available in Vancouver, such as visiting museums, attending festivals, and exploring the city's vibrant neighbourhoods," commented one expat who made the move to Vancouver, Canada.
