While the healthcare in Greece is generally of a high standard, it's advisable to have comprehensive health insurance to cover any potential costs. Secondly, you should find a good local doctor or midwife who speaks your language. This will make your prenatal appointments and the birth itself much easier. Thirdly, you should be aware that the process of registering a birth in Greece can be bureaucratic and time-consuming. It's important to start the process as soon as possible after the birth. Fourthly, you should also consider the cultural differences. Greeks traditionally celebrate the birth of a baby with a baptism, which is a major event. If you're not religious or have different beliefs, you may need to explain this to your Greek friends and neighbors. Fifthly, you should also consider the practicalities of raising a baby in Corfu. While it's a beautiful island with a relaxed lifestyle, it may not have all the amenities and services that you're used to. Lastly, it's important to build a support network. This can include other expats, local friends, or family if they're nearby.
