If you don't speak Icelandic, you might want to find a healthcare provider who speaks your language. While most Icelanders speak English, communication can be crucial during pregnancy and childbirth. Consider hiring a doula or midwife who can provide additional support and guidance throughout your pregnancy and during childbirth. They can also help you navigate the healthcare system and ensure you're comfortable and well-informed. Make sure to familiarize yourself with the customs and traditions related to childbirth in Iceland. For example, it's common for babies to nap outside in their prams, even in cold weather.
