What advice do you have for expats having a baby in Letterkenny?

Answer this Question

We asked expat moms who gave birth in Letterkenny about their experiences and advice they have for other moms to be. They said...

"It is important to research the local healthcare system and find a doctor or midwife that you feel comfortable with. Make sure to ask questions and get to know the medical professionals that will be caring for you and your baby. It is also important to find a good hospital or birthing center that is close to your home. Additionally, it is a good idea to join a local support group for pregnant women and new parents, as this can be a great source of information and support. Finally, make sure to take time to relax and enjoy the experience of having a baby in Letterkenny," explained one expat living in Letterkenny, Ireland.

"Read Tracy Donegan's book, be super informed, know what you want and ask until you get it. Know that not everywhere is Dublin and that there's a movement to improve the situation there. Check AIMS Ireland's web site for positive Irish birth stories. They do exist," said another expat in Letterkenny, Ireland.
