We asked expat moms who gave birth in Hong Kong about their experiences and advice they have for other moms to be. They said...

"1. Make sure to research the different types of healthcare available in Hong Kong, such as public and private hospitals, and decide which one is best for you and your family. 2. Consider enrolling in a prenatal class to learn more about the birthing process and to meet other expectant parents. 3. Take advantage of the many resources available to expats in Hong Kong, such as online forums and support groups. 4. Make sure to familiarize yourself with the local laws and regulations regarding maternity leave and childcare. 5. Consider hiring a doula or midwife to provide additional support during the birthing process. 6. Take the time to explore the city and find activities and places that you and your family can enjoy together. 7. Make sure to take care of yourself during your pregnancy by eating a balanced diet, getting plenty of rest, and exercising regularly," remarked another expat in Hong Kong, Hong Kong.

"My feeling about giving birth in another country was this: Children are born all over the world on a daily basis. Not all practices are the same, but it is amazing how many children successfully come into this world in every country. I did seek out a hospital that I would hopefully feel comfortable in, but that's no guarantee. I trusted all would go well. I also found a Doctor that I felt comfortable with and trusted," said a member in Hong Kong, Hong Kong.
