"When expecting a baby in Tromso, get familiar with the local healthcare system and know where the closest maternity ward, midwife stations and hospitals are. Be prepared to bring your baby and yourself to the hospital early on, as the hospital staff can help support you with the birth. It is wise to stock up on enough diapers and other baby supplies for the first few months, as delivery can be slow in such a remote area. Many websites also provide useful information and tips on baby-related topics such as maternity care, parenting and child safety. Additionally, research and join parenting or expat groups which offer support and advice on dealing with the challenges of raising a baby in a new country," wrote a member who made the move to Tromso, Norway.
