Find a good local doctor or midwife who speaks your language, as this will make communication easier during appointments and the birth. Research and visit local hospitals or birthing centers in Las Lajas to find one that suits your needs and preferences for the birth. Consider hiring a doula or birth coach who can provide additional support and guidance throughout the pregnancy and birth. Make sure you understand the local customs and practices around childbirth in Panama. For example, it's common for Panamanian doctors to recommend a cesarean section, even if it's not medically necessary. Prepare all the necessary paperwork for your baby's birth certificate and passport well in advance.
