There are local clinics and hospitals in Moalboal, but for more specialized prenatal and postnatal care, you may need to travel to Cebu City. Secondly, ensure you have comprehensive health insurance that covers maternity and newborn care. Medical costs can add up quickly, especially if complications arise. Thirdly, familiarize yourself with local customs and traditions related to pregnancy and childbirth. Filipinos have a rich culture and it's important to respect their practices. Fourthly, consider hiring a local doula or midwife. They can provide valuable support and guidance throughout your pregnancy and during childbirth. Fifthly, make sure to have a support system in place. Being an expat can be isolating, especially during such a significant life event. Reach out to other expat communities, join local groups, or connect with family and friends back home. Lastly, prepare for the climate. The Philippines is a tropical country and can be very hot and humid. Make sure you and your baby have appropriate clothing and stay hydrated. Remember, every pregnancy and birth is unique. What works for one person may not work for another.
