"In Al Raha Beach, it's important to respect the local customs and traditions. Dress modestly, especially in public areas, covering shoulders and knees. Public displays of affection are generally frowned upon, so avoid hugging, kissing, or holding hands in public. During the holy month of Ramadan, refrain from eating, drinking, or smoking in public during daylight hours as it's considered disrespectful. Avoid using your left hand for eating or handing over items, as it's considered unclean in Arab culture. Do not take photographs of people, especially women, without their permission. It's also illegal to photograph certain government buildings and military sites. Alcohol consumption is restricted in the UAE, so only consume it in licensed venues and never in public. Drunken behavior can lead to fines or imprisonment. Avoid discussing sensitive topics such as politics, religion, or sex. Criticizing the UAE government, royal families, or local laws and customs can lead to punishment. Lastly, always ask permission before entering a mosque, as non-Muslims are not allowed in certain areas," remarked another expat in Al Raha Beach, the UAE.
