What cultural faux pas should I try to avoid making in Hillsborough?

Answer this Question

We asked people in Hillsborough if they could share any humorous cultural blunders they commited. For new expats, keep in mind that these incidents are an inevitable part of expat life. Learning to laugh about them is the key!...

"In Hillsborough, it's important to respect the local customs and traditions. Avoid wearing revealing clothing, especially in religious or formal settings, as it is considered disrespectful. Public displays of affection are generally frowned upon, so try to keep affectionate gestures private. It's also considered rude to take photos of people without their permission, so always ask before you snap a picture. Avoid discussing sensitive topics such as politics or religion, as these can lead to heated debates. When dining, it's customary to use your right hand for eating, as the left hand is considered unclean. Also, it's considered impolite to leave food on your plate, so only take what you can finish. Lastly, punctuality is not highly valued in Grenadian culture, so don't be surprised if events or meetings start later than scheduled. However, as a visitor, it's best to arrive on time," said a member in Hillsborough, Grenada.
