What cultural faux pas should I try to avoid making in Piedmont?

Answer this Question

We asked people in Piedmont if they could share any humorous cultural blunders they commited. For new expats, keep in mind that these incidents are an inevitable part of expat life. Learning to laugh about them is the key!...

"It is important to be aware of the cultural norms in Piedmont, to ensure that you do not make any unintentional faux pas. For example, it is considered rude to be late for social engagements, so it is important to arrive on time. Additionally, it is important to dress appropriately for the occasion, as dressing too casually or too formally can be seen as disrespectful. Furthermore, it is important to be aware of the local customs and traditions, and to show respect for them. Finally, it is important to be aware of the local language, and to avoid speaking English or any other language in public, as this can be seen as impolite," wrote a member who made the move to Piedmont, Italy.
