"When visiting Amman, it is important to dress modestly, especially for women, by covering your shoulders, chest, and knees. Avoid public displays of affection, as they are considered inappropriate in Jordanian culture. Do not use your left hand for eating or passing objects, as it is considered unclean. Be respectful of Islamic customs, such as not eating, drinking, or smoking in public during the holy month of Ramadan. Avoid discussing sensitive topics like politics and religion, as these conversations can lead to misunderstandings. Always ask for permission before taking photographs of people, especially women. Do not refuse offers of tea or coffee, as it is considered impolite. Lastly, be aware of gender segregation in certain social situations and follow local customs accordingly," said another expat in Amman, Jordan.
