"It is important to be mindful of cultural norms when visiting Almaty. It is considered rude to show up late to social gatherings, so it is important to arrive on time. It is also important to dress modestly, as revealing clothing is considered inappropriate. Additionally, it is important to be respectful of religious beliefs and customs, as Kazakhstan is a predominantly Muslim country. It is also important to be aware of the local language and to avoid speaking loudly in public. Finally, it is important to be respectful of the local culture and to avoid making negative comments about the country or its people," remarked another expat who made the move to Almaty, Kazakhstan.
