When using chopsticks, don't stick them vertically into your food, especially rice, as it resembles a ritual for the dead. Also, don't tap your chopsticks on the edge of your bowl, as it's associated with begging. If you're invited to someone's home, it's customary to bring a gift. However, avoid giving clocks as gifts because the word for 'clock' sounds like the word for 'death' in Cantonese. When it comes to dress code, Hong Kong is quite westernized, but it's still important to dress modestly, especially when visiting religious sites. Lastly, remember to always be polite and patient.
