What cultural faux pas should I try to avoid making in Todos Santos?
We asked people in Todos Santos if they could share any humorous cultural blunders they commited. For new expats, keep in mind that these incidents are an inevitable part of expat life. Learning to laugh about them is the key!...
"It is important to remember a few cultural courtesies when visiting Todos Santos. It is best not to wear revealing clothing in public, especially around religious or sacred sites. Another important thing is to be mindful of the volume of your voice, and to always be respectful of the locals; this includes not negotiating prices aggressively or giving opinions about religion and politics. Additionally, it is important to remember to take off your hat and to say hello when you enter a shop. Finally, keep in mind that traditionally, Mexicans greet each other with a kiss on the cheek, so avoid offering a handshake unless it is significantly more socially and culturally appropriate," said a member in Todos Santos, Mexico.
