They enjoy the warm and welcoming nature of the locals, who are always ready to lend a hand or share a meal. The rich history and beautiful architecture of the city, particularly in the Barrio Histórico, is also highly appreciated. Expats love the local cuisine, especially the traditional asado barbecues and the local wines. They also value the safety and tranquility of the city, which is considered one of the safest in Uruguay. The local festivals and cultural events, such as the annual Fiesta de la Patria Gaucha, are also a highlight for many expats," remarked another expat who made the move to Colonia del Sacramento, Uruguay.
