What do expats find most challenging?
We asked expats and digital nomads what they find the most challenging about the local culture in Kampala. They wrote...
"Expats in Kampala often find the local culture to be quite different from what they are used to. One of the most challenging aspects of the local culture is the lack of personal space and privacy. People in Kampala tend to be quite open and friendly, but this can be overwhelming for expats who are used to more reserved behavior. Additionally, the local language, Luganda, can be difficult to learn, making it hard for expats to communicate with locals. Finally, the local customs and traditions can be difficult to understand, making it difficult for expats to fit in," remarked another expat in Kampala, Uganda.
