"Expats in Kiev often find the language barrier to be one of the most challenging aspects of the local culture. Many locals speak Ukrainian, which can be difficult for expats to understand. Additionally, the local customs and traditions can be difficult to navigate for those who are not familiar with them. Expats may also find the cost of living in Kiev to be higher than they are used to, as well as the lack of public transportation options. Finally, expats may find it difficult to make friends and build a social network in Kiev, as the locals can be quite reserved and not as open to meeting new people," wrote a member who made the move to Kiev, Ukraine.
