What do expats find most challenging?

Answer this Question

We asked expats and digital nomads what they find the most challenging about the local culture in Long Island. They wrote...

"Expats in Long Island may find the slower pace of life challenging, as the local culture values relaxation and leisure over the hustle and bustle of city life. They may also struggle with the island's isolation, as it is less developed and less populated than other parts of the Bahamas. The limited availability of goods and services can be a challenge, as can the high cost of living. Some expats may find it difficult to adjust to the local dialect and customs. Additionally, while the local people are generally friendly and welcoming, expats may experience a sense of being an outsider. Lastly, the lack of advanced healthcare facilities can be a concern for some expats," remarked another expat who made the move to Long Island, Bahamas.
