This can make communication difficult for expats who are not familiar with the language. Another challenge is the difference in social norms and etiquette. For instance, punctuality is not highly valued in Saint Lucian culture, which can be frustrating for expats used to strict adherence to schedules. The high cost of living can also be a challenge for expats in Rodney Bay. Imported goods are particularly expensive due to high import taxes, which can make maintaining a Western lifestyle costly. Lastly, while Saint Lucia is generally safe, there is a level of crime that can be concerning for expats. It's important for newcomers to be aware of their surroundings and take necessary precautions, especially at night," said a member in Rodney Bay, Saint Lucia.
