What do expats find most challenging?

Answer this Question

We asked expats and digital nomads what they find the most challenging about the local culture in Montry. They wrote...

"Expats in Montry often find it challenging to adjust to French culture, which can be vastly different to their own. Common challenges expats experience include the rigidity of French language, the presence of strong and close family ties, the importance of formal social etiquette, and the commitment to local traditions and customs. Additionally, expats may feel overwhelmed by the strict labor laws and regulations, as well as the slow bureaucratic processes they must go through to obtain necessary paperwork. Lastly, they may find it difficult to find work or build relationships due to a reluctance to accept foreign workers," remarked another expat who made the move to Montry, France, France.
