What do expats find most challenging?
We asked expats and digital nomads what they find the most challenging about the local culture in Amalfi Coast. They wrote...
"Expats in Amalfi Coast may find the language barrier to be the most challenging aspect of the local culture, as not everyone speaks English, and communication can be difficult. Additionally, they may struggle with the slower pace of life, as Italians value leisure and relaxation, which can be frustrating for those used to a faster lifestyle. The Italian bureaucracy can also be a challenge, as it is often slow and complicated, making tasks like obtaining visas and permits time-consuming. Furthermore, adjusting to the local customs and etiquette, such as the importance of dressing well and the late dining hours, can be difficult for expats. Finally, the limited public transportation options and the narrow, winding roads can make getting around the Amalfi Coast challenging for newcomers," remarked another expat in Amalfi Coast, Italy.
