What do expats find most challenging?
We asked expats and digital nomads what they find the most challenging about the local culture in Treasure Beach. They wrote...
"Expats in Treasure Beach often find the laid-back, "island time" pace of life challenging, as it can be a stark contrast to the fast-paced, deadline-driven cultures they may be used to. The local dialect, Patois, can also be difficult to understand and learn, making communication a challenge. Some expats may also struggle with the lack of certain amenities and services that they are accustomed to in their home countries. The heat and humidity can be overwhelming for those not used to tropical climates. Additionally, understanding and navigating the local customs and etiquette can be a challenge for newcomers. Lastly, while the local cuisine is loved by many, some expats may find it hard to adjust to the different flavors and ingredients," remarked another expat in Treasure Beach, Jamaica.
