"One of the most challenging aspects of retiring in Penang is the cost of living. Penang is a popular tourist destination and the cost of living is higher than in other parts of Malaysia. Additionally, the cost of healthcare can be expensive, and the quality of healthcare may not be as high as in other countries. Another challenge is the language barrier, as English is not widely spoken in Penang. Finally, the climate can be hot and humid, which may be difficult for some retirees to adjust to," wrote a member who made the move to Penang, Malaysia.
