"Every day is an adventure... Shopping is fun as we try new products each week... Some are not as good but many are as good or better than NOB (North of the Border). The cost of living allows us to eat out more and the dining selection here is excellent.," said another expat in Ajijic, Mexico.
"Retiring in Lake Chapala offers a wealth of opportunity for enjoyment and relaxation. With its temperate climate, magnificient views and vibrant cultural life, Lake Chapala is the perfect destination to enjoy one's retirement. The cost of living is much lower in Lake Chapala than in other parts of the country, allowing retirees to stretch their nest eggs and make their money last. In addition, retirees can take advantage of local amenities such as hot springs and the many excellent golf courses. There are also plenty of activities for retirees to take part in, from volunteering in local charities to learning Spanish and exploring the local lakefront. Furthermore, the area offers easy access to cities with plenty of shopping and sightseeing, and Mexico's famous beaches are just a few hours away. Retirement in Lake Chapala is a rewarding experience for those looking for an affordable, relaxed lifestyle combined with memorable experiences," wrote a member who made the move to Lake Chapala, Mexico.
