Will I save money living in Xi'an?
We asked expats if they save money living in Xi'an. They said...
"Living in Xi'an can be significantly cheaper than living in the United States. Cost of living is much lower and basic groceries and transportation are generally much more affordable. Housing costs are also greatly reduced, making it possible to rent or purchase a larger space for less than it would cost in the US. Additionally, Xi'an has a lower tax burden than in the US, leading to greater purchasing power and a higher standard of living," remarked another expat in Xi'an, China, China.
"Even though prices have risen dramatically here according to my wife's family, they are still very cheap by American standards, the exceptions being housing (buying) and clothing. No sales tax. No income tax. No tipping-although when not embarrassing to family, I do tip our waiters," said a member in Xi'an, China.
