Will I save money living in Canaries?

Answer this Question

We asked expats if they save money living in Canaries. They said...

"The cost of living in Canaries is generally lower than in the United States. This is particularly true when it comes to housing and utilities, which tend to be significantly cheaper. Groceries and dining out can also be less expensive, although this can vary depending on where you shop and eat. Healthcare is another area where you might find some savings, as medical services and medications often cost less in Saint Lucia. However, keep in mind that wages and salaries also tend to be lower in Saint Lucia compared to the United States. Therefore, if you're planning to work locally, you'll need to balance the lower cost of living against potentially lower earnings. Additionally, while some goods and services are cheaper, others, particularly imported items, can be more expensive due to import taxes and shipping costs," commented one expat who made the move to Canaries, Saint Lucia.
