Will I save money living in Merida?

Answer this Question

We asked expats if they save money living in Merida. They said...

"Yes, living in Merida is generally considered to be much less expensive than living in the United States. The cost of rent and food are significantly lower when compared to U.S. prices, often times even by half. For example, a three-bedroom apartment can easily be rented in Merida for less than $500 a month while the same type of rental in the U.S. might cost up to five times as much. In addition, other items such as clothes and transportation are often cheaper in Merida as well. Overall, living in Merida, Mexico can provide great savings for those looking to stretch their budget," explained one expat living in Merida, Mexico.
