Is the cost of living in Virgin Gorda high?
We asked people how much they someone comfortably live on in Virgin Gorda, they wrote...
"The cost of living in Virgin Gorda, British Virgin Islands, is considered to be high compared to many other locations. This is largely due to the fact that it is a popular tourist destination and a luxury vacation spot. The cost of housing is particularly high, with both rental and purchase prices significantly above average. In terms of everyday expenses, food and groceries are also quite expensive. This is because most goods have to be imported from other countries, which increases their cost. Dining out, especially at high-end restaurants, can also be quite costly. Transportation costs can also add up, especially if you plan on traveling between islands. While public transportation is available, many residents choose to rent or own a car for convenience, which can be expensive. Gas prices are also higher than average due to import costs. Healthcare is another significant expense. While the quality of healthcare is generally good, it can be expensive, especially for specialized treatments or procedures that may require travel to another island or even to the mainland. Overall, while the cost of living in Virgin Gorda is high, many residents feel that the island's natural beauty, relaxed lifestyle, and warm climate make it worth the expense," wrote a member who made the move to Virgin Gorda, the British Virgin Islands.
